In developing countries, road traffic accidents result in many cases of open trauma, especially fractures, with the tibia area at particular risk in motorcycle crashes. Despite a high prevalence of severe leg trauma with multi-tissue injuries, few studies have focused on the challenge of their reconstruction in these limited-resource settings. Brachial plexus injury in adults is commonly caused by motorcycle accidents. Surgical management consists of nerve repair and nerve grafting for extraforaminal nerve root or trunk injury, and of neurotization or nerve transfer for nerve roots avulsion. In general, the results regarding restoration of shoulder and elbow function are good but reinnervation of the forearm muscles is less than safisfactory in respect to restoration of hand function. A 26-year-old man was involved in a motorcycle accident and presented with an anterior hip dislocation. After a closed reduction, the hip showed a nonconcentric reduction. In the following case, a 20-year-old male was involved in a motorcycle accident where he sustained an open midshaft femur fracture treated with open reduction and internal fixation. Several weeks later, the wound became infected and the plate was removed. Over the following 20 years numerous incision and debridements were performed, with multiple courses of antibiotics for persisting infection. A retrospective study of cases of atlanto-occipital disarticulation was conducted to describe incident characteristics: 24 cases were identified, including nine motor vehicle drivers, two passengers, seven pedestrians, and five motorcyclists; one other person had fallen four stories. CASE: A 52-year-old man presented with cauda equina syndrome after a motorcycle accident. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed traumatic disc herniation, at L2-L3 and L5-S1 levels without bony injury. CASE: A 33-year-old man who had experienced polytraumatic injury from a motorcycle collision 5 months previously presented to the clinic with right ankle pain. This study aimed to report the survival of a rare case of complete tracheal transection followed by blunt neck trauma. The results of 30 patients who sustained traumatic posterior dislocation of the hip treated in both Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Singapore General Hospital from January 1980 to May 1987 were analysed.
