The records of 1,079 patients with gastric carcinoma were reviewed. Of these, only 21 (about 2%) had had previous gastric surgery for benign disease, usually peptic ulcer. The average interval between the original gastric surgery and the discovery of stomach cancer was 26.9 years. The symptoms of cancer presentation were not distinguishable from other forms of the postgastrectomy syndrome. Fallot tetralogy with pulmonary artery atresia is a special situation in which the patient can survive up to middle-age. In these cases some complications such as hemoptysis can appear with difficult treatment that endangers the life of the patient. When the cause of bleeding is the arteriovenous shunts, which are frequent in the multiple vascular malformations originated in this congenital cardiopathy, the selective embolization of these malformations can be an effective option of treatment.

OBJECTIVE: This study tested the impact of web administration on well-established measures of children's physical function and quality of life.
STUDY DESIGN AND SETTING: Participants were recruited from clinics at six hospitals. They completed the Activities Scale for Kids (ASK) and the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) questionnaires twice, in a crossover design that used paper and web-based modes of administration. Intraclass correlation coefficients were used to assess the validity of the new web formats relative to the original paper formats and their test-retest reliability.

Wandering liver syndrome is an extremely rare congenital disorder. It is mainly diagnosed within the first years of life. Herein we report the case of a 40-year-old woman with hepatoptosis due to the absence of anatomical peritoneal attachments of the liver. Surgical treatment consisted in inserting the floppy right lobe of the liver in a subphrenic retroperitoneal pouch. This original technique provided excellent postoperative result.

An anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery is a very rare congenital malformation. We examined the early and late results of 9 patients (4 males and 5 females, mean age at operation: 6.5 years +/- 6 years). Eleven operations were performed in these 9 patients. The following types of operation were performed: ligation of the left coronary artery close to the pulmonary artery in one case, coronary artery bypass grafting in 3 patients, reimplantation of the LCA into the aorta in 3 patients and interpulmonary artery tunnel repair ("tunnel operation") in 4 instances.

OBJECTIVE: Ovarian malignancy is highly suspected when patients present with an ovarian cystic mass lesion accompanied with ascites. However, aside from the primary origin, a metastatic lesion should be considered, since the ovary is frequently metastasized from cancers of other organs, such as the genital tract, gastrointestinal tract, and breast.
