Ductal tumors of canine mammary glands can be difficult to distinguish from simple tumors on routine histology. Sarcomas of the posterior mediastinum are rare and correspond mostly to neurogenic tumors. We studied 18 cases of liposarcoma presenting in the posterior mediastinum; because of their unusual location, some of these tumors posed difficulties for diagnosis. There were 11 men and 7 women aged 29-87 years (mean: 57). The tumors were large lobulated masses ranging from 6 to 30 cm in greatest diameter (median: 15 cm). In previous work we found loss of heterozygosity (LOH) of the wild-type TSC2 allele in the abnormal pulmonary smooth muscle cells and renal angiomyolipoma cells from patients with sporadic pulmonary lymphangiomyomatosis (LAM). Here we report TSC2 LOH in microdissected pulmonary LAM cells from a patient with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), demonstrating for the first time that the two-hit tumor suppressor gene model applies to the TSC-associated, as well as sporadic LAM. We also compared the chromosome 16 LOH region between angiomyolipoma and pulmonary LAM from two patients with sporadic LAM.

An immunohistochemical study of 5 cases of adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the breast was performed with antibodies against keratin, EMA, vimentin, S-100 protein, alpha-smooth muscle actin and collagen IV. Myopericytoma is a recently described hemangiopericytoma-like neoplasm with myoid differentiation. These tumors are typically located in the subcutaneous and soft tissues of the extremities. INTRODUCTION: Only 10% of intramuscular hemangiomas (IMH) are located in the head and neck region. There are very few reports of masseteric location. The present study of a case of intra-masseteric cavernous hemangioma discusses clinical presentation, paraclinical diagnostic workup and treatment options.
CASE REPORT: A 70-year-old male patient consulted for a swelling of 2 years' evolution, anterior to the left parotid gland. The swelling was firm, painless, well-contoured, oblong, 3 cm on its long axis, and located in the masseter muscle. There was no effect of head position on tumor volume.

We describe six cases of a distinctive spindle-cell neoplasm apparently arising from inguinal lymph nodes in adult patients. The lesions were characterized histologically by highly vascularized, interlacing fascicles of spindle cells circumscribed by an irregular band of sclerosis and hemorrhage, and surrounded by a compressed rim of lymph node remnant.
