Mycotic aneurysms constitute a small proportion of aortic aneurysms. Endovascular repair of mycotic aneurysms has been applied with good short-term and midterm results. We found multiple aneurysms in the intracranial arteries and abdominal aorta of an 87-year-old Korean female cadaver, whose cause of death was reported as "cholangiocarcinoma." An abdominal aortic aneurysm was observed in the infrarenal aorta, where the inferior mesenteric artery arose. We report a case of a 27-year-old female with supracardiac total anomalous pulmonary venous connection, where computed tomography angiography demonstrated a thin eccentric membranous web at the junction of the common chamber and ascending vertical vein with aneurysmal dilatation of the vertical vein distal to it. The development of the vertical vein aneurysm could possibly be attributed to the presence of turbulent flow within the vertical vein, distal to the site of stenosis caused by the membranous web.

Abdominal aortic aneurysms are found in up to 6% of men and 1.7% of women over the age of 65 years and are usually asymptomatic. The natural history of aortic aneurysms is continued dilation leading to rupture, which is associated with an overall 80% mortality. Left atrial appendage aneurysm is an infrequent abnormality presenting as atrial tachyarrhythmias, progressive dyspnoea, atypical chest pain and systemic thromboembolism. Surgical excision is considered to prevent fatal complications, even in asymptomatic cases. We describe the case of a 44-year-old woman with a history of acute cerebral infarction caused by emboli from a giant left atrial appendage aneurysm, which is the largest one reported to date. Histopathology and Masson staining confirmed the final diagnosis.
