The purpose of this article is to review the interaction between these 2 conditions and examine the effects of exercise on stress and cardiovascular (CV) health. HISTORY: Here we are reporting a case of 5 year old male child suffering from diphtheria induced airway obstruction, and myocarditis, who received midazolam in the form of IV infusion for sedation while undergoing mechanical ventilation for respiratory failure. Adverse Event: Six hours after starting midazolam infusion he started developing pulsus bigeminus and bradycardia and eventual death after two hours.

An increasing number of patients with malignant lymphoma are becoming long-term survivors following treatment with chemotherapy (CT) and/or radiotherapy (RT). The anthracyclines (ATC) have been used in the treatment of many pediatric patients with malignancies. Their use, however, has been limited by a serious and potentially irreversible cardiotoxicity. The medical records of pediatric patients with malignancies who received ATC at the Department of Pediatrics, Kyushu University, from January 1985 to December 1994 were reviewed. Among the 120 children with malignancies who received ATC, six patients (5%) developed congestive heart failure, 33 (28%) had subclinical cardiac dysfunction, whereas 81 (66%) showed no evidence of cardiac dysfunction. Recent case studies suggest that cocaine overdose may produce life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. We therefore investigated its effects on the electrocardiogram (leads II and V1) and arterial blood pressure in cats anesthetized with pentobarbital. Bradycardia and hypotension were the first major signs of toxicity from a 250 mg bupivacaine axillary brachial plexus block experienced by a patient with chronic renal failure, who had an anion gap acidosis and hyperkalaemia. BACKGROUND: Checkpoint-inhibitor immunotherapies have had a profound effect in the treatment of cancer by inhibiting down-regulation of T-cell response to malignancy.
