25 patients (2 females, 23 males, 20 to 40-year-old) suffering from condylomata acuminata (19 genital, 2 anal, and 4 genitoanal lesions) were locally treated with salicylic acid containing 5-fluorouracil (Verrumal) once a day. This therapy resulted in complete healing within 12 days on an average. 5 patients showed a relaps after 2 weeks to 5 months and were treated again. The treatment failed in a 40-year-old patient suffering from condylomata acuminata genitalis.

Condylomata acuminata occurred intraorally in a 6 year old Nigerian girl. Since she had no skin or genital lesions and no history of sexual contact, the virus was probably acquired from environmental sources. Non-sexual modes of transmission should, therefore, be considered, particularly when the lesions are extragenital.

The effectiveness of neodymium laser therapy was presented in the treatment of urogenital condyloma acuminata in 55 patients (51 men and 4 women). The patients were followed up 14 days, 4 weeks, 3 months and 6 months after the laser treatment. The main localization of condyloma acuminata was foreskin and glans penis. The cure rate after the 1st session of treatment was 76%, 8.5% of patients required 3 sessions of the laser therapy. PURPOSE: The aim of our study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral isotretinoin in the treatment of condylomata acuminata.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 56 male patients with a history of condylomata acuminata refractory to at least 1 standard therapeutic regimen was treated orally with isotretinoin (1 mg./kg. daily) during a 3-month period.

The authors describe the treatment of 37 patients with condyloma acuminatum by an electron beam with a preset energy. The therapy has been highly effective. No complications or relapses have been recorded over a follow-up of 1.5-4 years.

Of 85 patients with condylomata acuminata treated topically with Solcoderm, the lesions were apparently eradicated in all but 11 (12.9%), and recurrences were noted in 6 during a 3-month follow-up. Only 1 treatment was required in 55 (64.7%) of the treated subjects.
