Although blood vessel tumors are rare, they are frequently encountered in the hand and forearm, being the fourth most common tumor of the hand. The treating physician should be aware of the acquired, traumatic, and congenital vascular tumors that are so prevalent in this area.

Twenty-three patients with established contractures of the forearm, which were treated by excision of all irreparably damaged muscles, lengthening of the tendons and neurolysis of the median and ulnar nerves, are reported. Fourteen patients were children. Supracondylar fractures of the humerus, all treated by plaster-of-Paris, were associated with 10 contractures. Twelve patients achieved good or normal function of the hand after treatment; 5 had obvious functional disability, 4 achieved only a support function and 2 required forearm amputations. Tendinopathy and tendinitis are some of the most frequently encountered disorders in hand and upper extremity surgery. Patients often present with progressively increasing pain over a subacute or chronic period. In most cases it is a clinical diagnosis, with confirmation via advanced imaging. Cavernous hemangiomas are benign hamartomatous proliferation of endothelial tissues. A 33-year-old male with a history of over 50 fractures visited our outpatient clinic for adults with osteogenesis imperfecta. Rotation of his elbow joint was limited. An X-ray revealed ossification of the radio-ulnar interosseous membrane. These findings are highly suggestive of osteogenesis imperfecta type V.
