In pectus excavatum there may be a cartilaginous horn on the inner surface of the xiphoid process rubbing on the heart, or the xiphoid process may be tipped inward, rubbing on the heart and causing anginoid pain. Being cartilaginous, these protrusions of the xiphoid cartilage are not visible on preoperative radiographs. Eight per cent of pectus excavatum patients have organic heart disease (Reusch, 1961). Funnel chest may cause anginoid pain (Poppe, 1965) which can be relieved surgically.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this experimental rat model study is to evaluate the changes in the ovarian environment after excision of the rudimentary horn.
METHODS: Ten female Wistar albino rats were used in this study. One cm of right uterine horn length was excised in the first operation. Two months after the first operation, all animals were sacrificed to obtain ovaries for histological examination. Mann-Whitney U test and Student's t-test were used for statistical analysis purposes. The case of a patient presenting with Crisponi syndrome recently hospitalized at our institution is described. During pregnancy a diagnosis of this syndrome was hypothesized following sonographic observation of the fetus with the hands showing 'the sign of the horns'. We described a case of pregnancy, delivery and peurperium of 28 years old multipara with twins pregnancy in bicornuate, unicollis uterus. Each fetus was placed in separate horn of uterus. Biological mature pregnancy was delivered by cesarean section. During the peurperium the involution disturbances of one of the uterus horns were observed. The case was discussed in context of other similar anomalies.

This report presents a case of a 31-year-old woman successfully treated medically for a noncommunicating rudimentary horn ectopic pregnancy who presented with a second, successive rudimentary horn pregnancy. Patient underwent laparoscopic excision of right rudimentary horn and right salpingectomy after failed methotrexate therapy. Given the potential for rupture and recurrence, serious efforts should be made to excise a uterine rudimentary horn.
