Four cases of iris-supported pseudophakic pupillary-block glaucoma were presented. Pupillary-block glaucoma is the first postoperative complication seen following the implantation of an intraocular lens, and in our series occurred at an incidence of 3-8%. The management of malignant glaucoma involves either anterior vitrectomy with zonulectomy and iridectomy or 3-port core pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) by retinal surgeons. We present a case of pupillary block glaucoma that developed after cataract extraction in a pediatric patient. To prevent pupillary block and secondary glaucoma after cataract surgery we recommend that all pediatric cataract patients be given a prophylactic peripheral iridectomy.

The role of target organs in the maturation of adrenergic neurons was studied in the neonatal rat. The superior cervical ganglion (SCG) and its end organs, the salivary glands and iris were employed as a model system.
