BACKGROUND: Heart failure (HF) is a complex cardiovascular disease. Effective management typically involves four main medications: angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers, beta-blockers, angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors, and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, along with sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i). The primary objective of this article is to assess and identify the utilization of four-pillar regimen for HF managment and explore the characteristics of the patients being on the four-pillar regimen in Jordan.

The concentration of zinc in the skin has been determined noninvasively in patients with varicose vein ulcers. The examinations were performed with the use of diagnostic x-ray spectrometry, a method based on x-ray fluorescence for in vivo noninvasive evaluation of trace elements. An objective method of assessing the healing potentials of skin ulcers would eliminate the long waiting period necessary for visual evidence of healing or nonhealing to appear. Necrotizing skin lesions developed in a man with chronic ulcerative colitis. No evidence of intrinsic disease of medium or small-sized vessels was found. A circulating cryofibrinogen was thought to be responsible for in situ thrombosis leading to skin infarctions. Sodium warfarin in a daily dose of 2.5 to 5 mg appears to have thwarted progression of developing lesions and the occurrence of new ones.

CONCLUSION: TB should be suspected for nonhealing ulcers. Pertinent studies should be done early during the lesion; finally, TB treatment should be initiated immediately after diagnosis is made.
