The article describes how to apply radon-containing rectal suppositories in patients with chronic prostatitis (CP). Intrarectal insertion of the suppositories is performed in the patients lying in the left lateral or knee-elbow position daily for the first 8 days in a dose 18.5 kBk, for the following 2-4 days in a daily dose 37 kBk 2-3 times a day. So, the course of the treatment takes 10-12 days. Such treatment of CP patients eradicated or alleviated prostatic inflammation and improved sexual function, was effective in 80% patients, prolonged remission to 12-16 months.

A randomized doubleblind investigation of prostaglandin vaginal suppositories prior to hysteroscopy was undertaken in 30 non-pregnant women. PGE2 in 14 of 15 treated patients we found a softening and a dilatation of the cervical canal, but with a relatively high frequency of side effects-nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. No serious bleeding or side effects were observed.

Two hundred and twelve patients diagnosed as having a missed abortion or intrauterine fetal death were managed by the use of prostaglandin E2 vaginal suppositories. The method had a high efficacy rate with 98% of the patients experiencing successful evacuation of the uterine contents. Twenty patients with either missed abortions or intrauterine fetal death were induced with prostaglandin (PGE2) vaginal suppositories. The uterus is surprisingly responsive to PGE2 in cases of intrauterine death, yielding a short treatment-delivery interval.
