BACKGROUND: Pityriasis versicolor (PV) is a ubiquitous superficial skin mycosis that often affects young adults. It is often effectively treated with local or oral antifungal agents. Cases of PV resistance to antifungal agents have been reported rarely. We report a case of antifungal resistant PV. Observation. A 22-year-old patient was followed since the age of 17 years in a dermatology outpatient clinic for hyperpigmented scaly macular lesions of the trunk and upper limbs. BACKGROUND: Yellow fever virus is an arbovirus transmitted to humans by Aedes and Haemogogus mosquito species. To date, there is no specific treatment for yellow fever. However, an effective vaccine is available for the prevention. After a decline in yellow fever cases in Africa between 2004 and 2015, large-scale transmission of the virus was observed in Africa during 2019, with outbreaks recorded in West Africa. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional study over the period of 12 months (2016-2017) including children aged 1 to 18 years hospitalized in the pediatric ward of Sylvanus Olympio university teaching hospital of Lome (Togo) for renal failure.

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a real public health concern in Africa; thyroid localisation of the disease is a very rare form of extrapulmonary TB. We conducted a descriptive and cross-sectional study on all histologically proved cases of thyroid TB diagnosed in Togo over the last 20 years. The objective of this study is to determine the main opportunistic infections (OI) and those strongly linked to high death rate in hospital settings in Togo. Few reports documenting the epidemiology of Neisseria meningitidis (Nm) serogroup W135 exist, and none from Togo. During 2003-2005, we conducted acute bacterial meningitis surveillance at three major reference hospitals in Togo. Of 116 Nm identified, 83 (71%) were NmA, 23 (20%) were NmW135, and 10 (9%) did not have a serogroup identified. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency and clinical presentation of cysticercosis in patients consulting in the neurology unit of the Lomé, Togo Teaching Hospital. Among the 2.064 patients examined, 38 had cysticercosis. All 38 were males, age ranged 18 to 50 years. The Expanded Programme on Immunization in Togo began in 1980 in the provinces and extended to the whole country in 1984. At the present time, the immunization coverage of children under one year of age is of 43% and 63% for the tetanus immunization of women. The epidemiological impact is being notable on the incidence of measles, tetanus, pertussis and poliomyelitis but efforts are still necessary for mothers' information.

OBJECTIVE: To provide an up-to-date data, we aim to estimate the frequency of sickle cell disease among children in the pediatric clinics of the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital, Lome, Togo, in 2022.
