We describe the case of a 65-year-old man who developed spontaneous bladder rupture after picking up his suitcase from a squatting position. He was known to have non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), managed previously with transurethral resections and intravesical chemotherapy. CASE SUMMARY: A 10-month-old female spayed domestic shorthair cat was presented for urinary incontinence. The cat was azotaemic, and ultrasound examination identified hydroureter and hydronephrosis. Subsequent computed tomography (CT) contrast pyelography allowed a diagnosis of urinary bladder torsion. Surgical findings and treatment are described. Postoperatively, incontinence and azotaemia resolved, and marked improvements were documented with ultrasound and CT in urinary tract structural abnormalities.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most common infection in patients with neurogenic bladder. Diagnosis is fraught with challenges since there is no globally accepted definition for UTI and symptoms can vary widely. Due to the increased risk of morbidity, it is important to have a thorough understanding of the risk of UTI, diagnostic criteria, and to treat aggressively when UTI is confirmed. Prevention of UTI is optimal but more studies are needed to identify the best methods to prevent UTIs in this population.

Leiomyoma of the urinary bladder is a rare bladder tumour, which is benign in nature. On presentation, it resembles urothelial cancer but it has an excellent prognosis. STUDY OBJECTIVE: Urinary endometriosis accounts for 1% of all endometriosis where the bladder is the most affected organ. Although the laparoscopic removal of bladder endometriosis has been demonstrated to be effective in terms of symptom relief with a low recurrence rate, there is no standardized technique. Partial cystectomy allows the complete removal of the disease and is associated with low intra- and postoperative complications. A case of primary malignant lymphoma of the urinary bladder is described. The classic presentation of gross hematuria and dysuria with a benign clinical course is illustrated. From a review of the literature and our experience, we conclude that localized primary lymphoma of the bladder, especially those with favorable histologic findings, often does not require medical or surgical intervention. Persistent irritative bladder symptoms can be palliated adequately with external beam radiotherapy, while surgical intervention is rarely indicated.
