BACKGROUND: Ectopic thyroid tissue (ETT) is primarily caused by embryonic dysplasia. It is commonly located laterally in the neck or in the thyroglossal duct, as well as in more remote locations like the mediastinum and the subdiaphragmatic organs. The incidence of ETT is relatively rare, and the risk of malignant transformation is extremely low. The clinical symptoms of ETT are typically linked to the site of ETT involvement, and histopathological or biopsy examination is typically used to confirm the diagnosis of ectopic thyroid cancer.

Extragonadal germ cell tumors are a rare clinical entity. We present the case of an extragonadal germ cell tumor followed by testicular recurrence more than 4 years later. We report 27 cases of primary malignant tumors arising from lacrimal gland, including 12 cases with adenoid cystic carcinoma, 9 cases with malignant mixed tumor and 6 cases with other lacrimal gland carcinoma seen in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center from 1981 to Nov. 1989. These patients with malignant neoplasms accounted for 65.85% of all patients with primary epithelial tumor of lacrimal gland. The clinical presentation, imaging features in X-ray, ultrasonic and CT scan, the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis are discussed and analysed.

Twelve cases of malignancy of the uterine body occurred 5-19 years after radiotherapy for 8,704 cases of carcinoma of cervix-an incidence of 0.14%. 10 cases were malignant mixed mesodermal tumor and 2 endometrial carcinoma.
