We propose a novel approach to the analysis of synchronized three-dimensional motion in dyads. Motion recorded at high time resolution, as with a gaming device, is preprocessed in each of the three spatial dimensions by spline smoothing. Synchrony is then defined, at each time point, as the cosine between the two individuals' estimated velocity vectors. The approach is extended to allow a time lag, allowing for the analysis of leader-follower dynamics. OBJECTIVE: With growing access to the Internet, people who use drugs and traffickers started to obtain information about novel psychoactive substances (NPS) via online platforms. This paper aims to analyze whether a decreasing Web interest in formerly banned substances-cocaine, heroin, and MDMA-and the legislative status of mephedrone predict Web interest about this NPS.

Adjusting for a causal intermediate is a common analytic strategy for estimating an average causal direct effect (ACDE). BACKGROUND: The incidence of typhoid fever in Spain from January 1982 to December 1993 was studied with the aim of analyzing how the disease has evolved over these years and predict its future behavior in order to facilitate prevention by the public health care organizations and centers.

A recent paper in this journal has analysed world records in three types of locomotion, making extensive use of mathematical and statistical techniques. There are a number of methodological flaws in much of the authors' use of these techniques. Some of these are fundamental and others are less serious. This paper draws the attention of readers of this journal to these flaws, with comment and suggestions. This is done in the hope that researchers using mathematical and statistical techniques will be made more aware of limitations to their methodology.
