The objective of this study was provide an overview of current practices on hormonal therapy (HT) in children with undescended testes (UDT). An online questionnaire about HT, referral patterns, and orchidopexy was spread via several (social media) networks involved in pediatric urology. A total of 283 individuals responded, with 54 countries sampled. The majority (84%) did not prescribe HT for UDT, predominantly due to a paucity of scientific evidence (76%). PURPOSE: To assess the outcomes of pediatric LaparoEndoscopic Single Site (LESS) orchidopexy using a commercially available multi-channel single port (MCSP) and flexible tip laparoscope (FTL).
PATIENTS AND METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was performed of children who underwent LESS orchidopexy by a single surgeon at a pediatric institution. A commercially available MCSP was utilized at the umbilicus. A 5 mm FTL and 3 mm and 5 mm instruments were used for the dissection. Follow-up visits were performed 2-4 weeks and 6-12 months after surgery to assess position and size of the testes.
