Rosette-forming glioneuronal tumors (RGNT) of the fourth ventricle are rare mixed glioneuronal tumors included in the revised WHO classification of central nervous system tumors, showing partial histological similarities to pilocytic astrocytomas. The expression of T-lymphocyte markers has been demonstrated by blast cells of patients with non-T, non-B and pre-T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). The main inducing agent is phytohemagglutinin (PHA). Its action was enhanced when combined with phorbol ether (TPA) or ouabain. Dimethylsulfoxide, ouabain and concanavalin A had no similar inducing effect. TPA caused the expression of some T-cell markers revealed by monoclonal antibodies but had only a little inducing effect to E-receptor.

Various immunological parameters were investigated in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and Graves' disease (GD). The total T cell numbers were significantly decreased in both diseases whether they were enumerated by E rosetting or by pan-T cell monoclonal antibodies (OKT3 and anti-Leu 1). This diminution was due to a loss in the inducer T cell subset (OKT4+/Leu 3a+) whereas the cytotoxic/suppressor T cells (OKT8+/Leu 2a+) were present at normal levels in both diseases. Mesenteric lymph node (MLN) cells of rats infected with Nippostrongylus brasiliensis (Nb) were obtained 8 days after infection and were incubated overnight with rat IgE for the formation of IgE-binding factors. Cells from 13 cases of T-prolymphocytic leukaemia (T-PLL) were studied with a battery of immunological techniques in order to define their membrane phenotype. This study shows that two cannabinoids, Delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and anandamide, induce dose-related immunosuppression in both the primary and secondary in vitro plaque-forming cell assays of antibody formation. The comparative study of disturbances in the immune status of patients with different clinical forms of tick-borne encephalitis has revealed that in the severe (meningeal) form of the disease more pronounced imbalance in the immune system develops, especially with respect to immunoregulatory subpopulations of T-lymphocytes. This seems to be the cause of delayed activation of immune processes in this group of patients in comparison to those having an aborted course of the disease.
