Here, we present the new application of solid-state Vibrational Circular Dichroism (VCD) spectroscopy to differentiate several dutasteride (DS) solvatomorphs - the model active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). Several crystalline DS hydrochloride hydrates solvated with methanol, ethanol, acetonitrile, acetone, and acetic acid were prepared. In contrast to almost identical IR spectra, the VCD ones were very sensitive to changes in the sample composition. A direct solid sampling method based on high-resolution continuum source graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (HR-CS GFAAS) for the determination of selenium (Se) in biological tissues was optimized. Quercetin, a flavonoid compound, was found to inhibit both monophenolase and diphenolase activities of tyrosinase, and its inhibition against diphenolase activity was in a reversible and competitive manner with an IC50 value of (3.08±0.74)×10-5molL-1. This study evaluated the content of cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), and nickel (Ni) in 105 hair care products commercially available in Turkey. Cd, Pb, and Ni were detected in 40%, 21.91%, and 94.29% of the samples, respectively. Maximum Cd concentrations were detected in two shampoo samples, and the highest Pb level was found in a hair conditioner, all of them were herbal-based formulations. The UV-vis and the IR spectra of derivativized adenosine in dichloromethane have been recorded during potentiostatic oxidation at an optically transparent thin layer electrode. Oxidized adenosine shows a broad Zundel like absorption extending from 2800 up to 3600 cm(-1), indicating that a proton transfer process is occurring. Theoretical computations predict that proton transfer is indeed favored in oxidized 1:1 self-association complexes and allow to assign all the observed transient spectroscopic signals.

Gallstones obtained from patients from the north-east region of India (Assam) were studied using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technique.
