Spalled particles of silicone were observed in the livers of patients with chronic renal failure treated by hemodialysis. In hagfish islet parenchyma, consisting practically only of insulin-producing B-cells and agranular B-cell precursors, the contents of glutathione (GSH) and total protein-free thiols (NPSH) were determined on micro-dissected islet lobules. An aminated Amberlite XAD-resin as a solid phase extractant was tested for speciation of inorganic mercury, Hg(II) and methylmercury, MeHg(I) in water and fish tissue samples.
