Variants of classical exstrophy are exceedingly rare. We report a case of covered and duplicate exstrophy with duplication of the bladder, urethra and genital tract with dextrocardia.

In cases of urethral stricture that are nonpassable when using conventional internal urethrotomy, open urethroplasty can be avoided by performing combined antegrade-retrograde urethrotomy (ARUT). A rigid cystoscope is guided through a dilated suprapubic cystostomy channel toward the stricture in the membranous or bulbar urethra. Among 2120 patients with fracture of pelvis, 36 (1.6%) had simultaneous rupture of bladder and posterior urethra. Of the 36 patients 34 were male and 2 female and the ratio of male to female was 17:1. This urological injury is rare and is often misdiagnosed. We report a case of papillary adenoma of the prostatic urethra composed of prostatic-type epithelial tissue. The patient was a 48-year-old male with complaint of urethral bleeding. Tumor was transurethrally resected. Sixty one such cases (males, 17-82 years old) have been reported in Japan. Ureaplasma urealyticum is one of the microorganisms possibly causing nongonococcal urethritis. In a prospective study, 606 men without urethritis presented to an STD clinic in a rural West German region were investigated for the prevalence of U. urealyticum in the urethra. Nine cases of primary malignant melanoma of the penis and male urethra are presented. The age range of the patients was 57-77 years. In isolated human urethra, prazosin competitively inhibited contractions induced by noradrenaline, but had no effect on contractions elicited by potassium (127 mM), suggesting an action solely on alpha-adrenoceptors.
