PURPOSE OF REVIEW: This review examines recent research on the prevalence and importance of iron deficiency in blood donors, and on efforts to mitigate it.
RECENT FINDINGS: Premenopausal females, teenagers, and high-frequency donors are at the highest risk for donation-induced iron deficiency, in both high-resource and low-resource settings. A very detailed differential diagnosis is necessary to investigate the causes of blood hypereosinophilia. In the differential diagnosis of hypereosinophilia with pulmonary involvement, primary and secondary eosinophilic lung diseases should be kept in mind, and more specific diagnoses should be considered in those with a history of nasal polyposis and asthma. Here, it was aimed to present a case of organ-limited hypereosinophilia with asthma and nasal polyposis.

AIM: to assess macular blood flow in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) patients using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A).
MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study included 65 POAG patients and 22 age-matched healthy volunteers. Using OCT-A, blood flow parameters (Flow Area, Flow Index, and Vessel Density) were assessed in the para- and perifovea (0.6-2.5 mm and 2.5-5.5 mm, respectively) at the level of both superficial and deep vascular pexuses. A man aged 51 years presented with sudden onset, horizontal, binocular, double vision and right facial weakness. Ocular motility examination … sciculus. As a result of this presentation, further investigations uncovered a hitherto undiagnosed blood dyscrasia-namely polycythaemia vera. OBJECTIVE: To explore the method of cheek blood sampling in mice in continuous blood test.
METHODS: Cheek blood sampling was carried out in 10 9-week-old mice once every 2-3 days. The volumes of blood samples were recorded. Reactions of the mice were observed.
RESULTS: Cheek blood sampling collected 0.3-0.6 ml of blood every time, and did not affect the normal activities of the mice. The blood sampling could be repeated every 2-3 days.
