An 18-year-old girl presented with primary amenorrhea and absence of secondary sexual characteristics. She had gonadal dysgenesis, clitoromegaly, absence of the vagina and a 46,XY chromosome pattern.

This study investigated the effects of zero, low (0.55), medium (1.1) and high (2.2 mg/kg LW) boldenone undecylenate on the reproductive physiology of sixteen fillies from the ages of 7 to 11 months until 2 years. Ovarian activity measured by cross-sectional area, total number of ovulations, total number of follicles and the number of large follicles (greater than 30 mm in diameter) was significantly reduced by steroid treatments. Authors present a critical study and the results on clitoroplasty in 71 patients with ambiguous genitalia. In 3 patients were performed a clitorectomy and a clitoroplasty was performed in 58 according Pellerin's technique. Ten clitoroplasties according Spence-Allen technique were also performed.

Long-term treatment of norethisterone (a progestogen-only contraceptive) at a daily dosage of 0.5 mg/rat for consecutive 75 days inhibited the preputial gland activity of the female albino rat. It was evident from the decreased mitotic rate as well as from the decline in the per cent of matured acini. It is suggested that chronic treatment of norethisterone perhaps also involves this gland in contraception in the rat.

The oligosaccharide alditols of rat preputial gland beta-glucuronidase have been isolated by reductive alkaline hydrolysis of the enzyme followed by gel filtration. In 7 female volunteers the local vaginal blood flow was calculated from the washout of the radioactive inert gas xenon 133 after an intraepithelial injection. During rest a monoexponential washout curve was found for the whole washout process. The average vaginal blood flow (VBF) was found to be 9.8 ml.min-1. (100 g)-1 (range, 5.5 to 19.6). In 6 of the women when sexual stimulation was undertaken an increase in blood flow was recorded to an average of 28.9 ml.min-1. (100 g)-1 (range, 21.5 to 45.0).
