Median cleft lip with nasal dermoid is a very rare occurrence. Midline nasal dermoid results from the abnormal fusion of embryological processes. They can present as asymptomatic midline nasal swelling, infection, or meningitis due to intracranial extension. Median cleft lip also results from failure of fusion of embryological processes and can be complete or incomplete or associated with other congenital anomalies or as a part of syndrome. We present a rare combination of both in a 7-month-old female child who was surgically treated.

Persistent embryological carotid-basilar anastomoses are rare. There has been no report on persistent anastomosis between the accessory meningeal artery and the antero-superior cerebellar artery. BACKGROUND: An ependyma-lined canal with surrounding neuroglial tissues can be present in lumbosacral lipomatous malformations; however, the precise embryological significance is still unclear.
METHOD: Six out of 50 patients with lipomatous malformations had ependymal structures. There are many vascular disorders that can affect the spinal cord, and their prevalence and etiology are highly influenced by age, sex, and risk factors. This article reviews the embryology and anatomy of the spinal cord, as well as several vascular conditions, describing their clinical and imaging presentation, emphasizing the different imaging modalities' contributions to increasing specificity and better defining the most appropriate therapy strategy for improving the patient's prognosis.

A 40-year-old male, diagnosed to have WPW syndrome and symptomatic with recurrent palpitations, was taken up for radiofrequency ablation. There was difficulty in coronary sinus cannulation. Coronary venogram revealed coronary sinus atresia with persistent left superior vena cava, and collateral venous pathways draining into the right atrium. This case is discussed for the rare coronary venous anomaly, its embryology and the difficulties in the management during electrophysiological studies.

Morphological abnormalities of the internal acoustic canal (IAC), albeit rare, are sometimes associated with hearing loss in children. There is a long-held credo, as illustrated in Langman's Medical Embryology (11th ed., Sadler, 2010), that dichorionic diamniotic (DD) twins develop after embryo splitting in the early stages of embryonic development.
