OBJECTIVES: To describe the clinical characteristics and therapeutic outcomes from male patients diagnosed of Haemophilus spp urethritis.
METHODS: A chart review of patients who presented to our hospital from January 2013 to December 2014 with symptoms of acute urethritis in which Haemophilus spp was isolated in their urethral samples was performed.

Fluid in the pleural space is a common sequela of a wide range of diseases which may be pulmonary, pleural or extrapulmonary. As the differential diagnosis is wide, a systematic approach to investigation and diagnosis is recommended. This review highlights the important features and recommendations for the investigation of a unilateral pleural effusion, a common condition encountered by the general physician. The aim of this study was to assist with a speedy diagnosis of the underlying pathology, using appropriate investigative techniques, while minimising the use of invasive procedures.

The role of clinical and instrumental studies into the nature of pleural effusion obtained through transthoracic puncture was ascertained in 639 with pulmonary pathology. An algorithm was developed for the application of this method to differential diagnosis of different forms of pleuritis. Etiopathogenetic groups of patients with terminal differentiation of this pathology were distinguished.

PURPOSE: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most frequent cause of severe visual impairment in western countries, but its aetiology remains unclear. A growing body of evidence suggests that inflammation contributes to the pathogenesis of AMD, similarly to that shown for atherosclerosis. We report a case of retroperitoneal liposarcoma with a fat-fluid level that has not been previously described. A 36-year-old man presented with abdominal distension. Ultrasonography, CT, and MR imaging showed a tumor with a fat-fluid level; nondependent fluid was characteristic of fat. Liposarcoma should be included in the differential diagnosis of tumors exhibiting a fat-fluid level.
