Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune skin disorder that causes hair loss. Squaric acid dibutylester (SADBE) is used for AA treatment as a topical immunotherapy that promotes hair growth by inducing allergic contact dermatitis in skin lesions. PURPOSE: To compare macula vascular parameters in optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) of children with history of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) who were treated with laser photocoagulation (LPC) or intravitreal Bevacizumab therapy.
METHODS: Forty eyes of 28 ROP children treated with LPC and 36 eyes of 22 ROP children treated with intravitreal Bevacizumab and 40 eyes of 40 age-gender matched term children were included the study. Capillary plexus densities in macula, FAZ parameters, outer retina and choriocapillaris flow rates, and central foveal thickness were measured.

Therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) has been reported consistently in animal models of stroke, with mechanism mainly through immunomodulation and paracrine activity. Intravenous injection has been a prevailing route for MSCs administration, but cell quantities needed when scaling-up from mouse to human are extremely high putting into question feasibility of that approach. Intra-arterial delivery directly routes the cells to the brain thus lowering the required dose. Cell engineering may additionally improve cell homing, further potentiating the value of intra-arterial route.

The possible involvement of substance P released from primary afferents in rat skin was investigated in cutaneous inflammation following ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Recordings from c-fibres innervating the UV-exposed hindpaw skin showed long-lasting low-frequency (0.8-1.25 Hz) spontaneous activity.
