This paper intend to investigate the effects of biodiesel fuel blends comprising of waste-cooking oil and butanol-diesel (B10W10-B10W40) under steady-state conditions. Both particulate organic carbon (OC) and PM including PM2.5 and PM10 significantly decreased with the increasing percentage of biodiesel fuel blends. The fuel blend of B10W40 also demonstrated the most effective function in reducing the emissions of PM10 and PM2.5 in the volume by 59.4% and 57.7%, respectively. The effects of the lazaroid analogue U75412E (21-[4-(3-ethylamino-2-pyridinyl)-1-piperazinyl]-16 alpha-methylpregna-1,4,9]-(11)-triene-3,20-dione) were examined in an acute lung injury rabbit model. Standard doses of 0, 8 and 16 mM U75412E were aerosolized and ventilated into the lungs for 3 min. via an endotracheal tube. A 60 tidal volume dose of diesel fuel-polycarbonate plastic smoke was then instilled, followed by mechanical ventilation for one hour. One of the most common methods of maternal filicide is by fire. In this case study, a 40-year-old female and her children were found completely burned in a burnt out car. All bodies showed a degree of destruction by fire consisting to a level 3 of the Crow-Glassman Scale (CGS) and early stage of insect activity. Toxicological analyses were performed on soft tissues and body fluids still available. This study evaluates the usefulness of skin analysis to determine the causative agent in cases of dermal exposure. The study consists of an animal experiment and two human cases. The petroleum components detected at high concentrations in skin samples resembled the composition of those in the corresponding petroleum products. However, the petroleum components in blood were detected at low concentrations and were a different composition. Skin is considered to be an advantageous sample to estimate the petroleum product in clinical and forensic cases of dermal exposure.
