A new hydrazone compound 3-hydroxy-N'-(2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylidene)benzohydrazide (HL) and its isostructural cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes [M2Cl2L2(EtOH)2] (M = Co for 1, Ni for 2) were synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical methods such as elemental analysis, infrared and electronic spectroscopy. Advances in targeted therapies for newly diagnosed primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) were a key highlight at the 2025 ASH Annual Meeting. While high-dose methotrexate (HD-MTX) remains the cornerstone of PCNSL treatment, the integration of BTK inhibitors, immunomodulators, and novel agents-such as selinexor and anti-PD-1 antibodies-is reshaping the first-line management paradigm. These emerging combinations are improving response rates and survival, paving the way for more effective strategies. Here, we provide a timely synthesis of these pivotal updates presented at ASH 2025.

A large set of hydrazide-based derivatives were explored as inhibitors of the human (h) carbonic anhydrase (CA) isoforms I, II, IV, IX, and XII. In this study, 36 novel hydrazide-containing L-perillaldehyde derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their antifungal activity. In the in vitro antifungal assays, most of the target compounds exhibited remarkable antifungal activity. Notably, compound C4 displayed exceptional antifungal activities against Rhizoctonia solani (EC50 = 0.260 μg/mL), Fusarium graminearum (EC50 = 0.480 μg/mL), Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.240 μg/mL), and Valsa mali (EC50 = 0.512 μg/mL), outperforming carbendazim, which showed EC50 values of 0.651, 0.804, 0.520, and 0.898 μg/mL, respectively.

The Kids' ITP Tools (KIT) is a questionnaire to assess quality of life of children with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). The aim of this study was to update this previously validated tool to align with changes in clinical practice, specifically, treatment with thrombopoietin receptor agonists (TPO-RAs). INTRODUCTION: In this paper, we systematically review the efficacy and safety of thrombopoietin receptor agonists (TPORAs) for treatment of persistent and chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) in children and adults.
METHODS: We searched PubMed, MEDLINE, ScienceDirect, Scopus, EMbase and the Cochrane Library to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of TPO-RAs which including avatrombopag hetrombopag eltrombopag and romiplostim treated persistent and chronic ITP from their earliest records to February 2022.
