We studied the effects of intra-arterial chemotherapy (IAC) with a new nitrosourea (hydroxyethyl-chloroethyl nitrosourea: HeCNU) on the visual system of 68 patients with malignant gliomas. The intra-arterial chemotherapy was given as a complementary treatment of glioma after surgery (19 patients), after tumor recurrence (28 patients) and as the preliminary treatment before radiotherapy (21 patients). We report a long-term survival case of metastatic endometrial stromal sarcoma. A 45-year-old woman with acute abdomen was operated at another hospital. Her uterine histology was endometrial stromal sarcoma. She came to our hospital to treat a metastatic endometrial stromal sarcoma. Endometrial stromal sarcomas were found in liver, spleen and lung. Intra-arterial hypertension chemotherapy was repeatedly performed. After this therapy, metastatic legion in the liver and the spleen disappeared on image studies and metastatic lesions in the lung grew smaller.

UNLABELLED: We report 5 cases of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) with hepatic arterial infusion (HAI) oxaliplatin after systemic infusion chemotherapy failure. A unique case of parosteal osteosarcoma (POS) of the proximal femur, with areas of telangiectatic dedifferentiation, in a 28-year-old woman is reported. The patient had a 7-week history of pain and swelling in her right thigh. A biopsy diagnosis of POS was established. The patient was treated with two cycles of intraarterial chemotherapy, followed by limb salvage surgery. Histological examination of the resected specimen showed POS with areas of dedifferentiation composed of highgrade telangiectatic osteosarcoma with associated secondary aneurysmal bone cyst change.

The removal of urokinase from the market has created a dilemma for interventionists and vascular surgeons treating patients with acute limb threatening ischemia due to arterial thrombosis or embolization. Reteplase is a newer, fibrin-specific thrombolytic agent with properties that make it an attractive alternative to urokinase.
