Infective uvulitis is a rare condition in children. In this report, we describe the case of a 4-year old-patient who presented a group A Streptococcus pharyngitis with uvulitis. No signs of epiglottitis were detected at nasal fibroscopy. She recovered rapidly with intravenous antibiotic therapy and 2 days of corticosteroid. Uvulitis is usually caused by group A Streptococcus or Haemophilus influentiae, but also other bacteria can be detected. Uvulitis can be isolated, or it can occur with epiglottitis and become an emergency.

OBJECTIVE: To treat OSAHS with hyoid suspension and evaluate treating effect.
METHOD: Twenty-eight patients of median, severe OSAHS were treat with functional endoscopic sinus surgery, UPPP+ hyoid suspension. The length of follow up was 6 months. PSG was used for diagnosis and pre up, post up evaluation.
RESULT: AHI of 28 patients reduced from (52.8 +/- 21.4)h to (15.2 +/- 13.3)h (P < 0.05). Effective rate is 85.7%.
CONCLUSION: Hyoid suspension is an effective method of safety, simplicity, few complications.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Habitual snoring is best treated surgically, with uvulopalatophayngoplasty, but the standard "cutting" procedure poses potential morbidity. In this study, a new approach, stiffening of the soft palate with a low energy laser, was studied as a less invasive alternative. Study Design In an in vitro study, five fresh palates of canines were used to see acute thermal effect on the palatal tissue after laser treatment.
