Five men (mean age 39 years) were followed up for 6 to 60 months for tricuspid valve regurgitation caused by a front-to-back injury (in a car in four cases, in an aircraft in one case). We report on the repatriation of a 28-year old female from Germany, who was involved in a serious bus accident and was transported to the nearest hospital in Oruro, Bolivia. CT scans and x-rays performed in this hospital demonstrated a complete pneumothorax right. Thorax drainage was inserted, which was removed after 5 days. Since the hospital refused to acknowledge the presence of a residual middle-sized pneumothorax on the repatriation day and did not want to insert another tube, the decision was made to repatriate the patient on commercial flight back home to Germany without a thoracic tube

BACKGROUND: To evaluate cancer incidence among licenced commercial pilots in association with cosmic radiation.
METHODS: Cohort study where ionizing radiation dose of cosmic radiation was estimated from airline data and software program and cancer incidence was obtained by record linkage with nation-wide cancer registry. All licenced commercial male airline pilots were followed from 1955 to 2015, ever or never employed at airline with international routes. Standardized incidence ratios were calculated and relative risk by Poisson regression, to examine exposure-response relation.

A 28-year-old stewardess was admitted to hospital with violent cramp-like pain in the right upper abdomen, which was accompanied by a single episode of watery pasty diarrhea. Over the next few days her symptoms persisted, she developed a high fever, and her general state of health deteriorated. Ultrasonography repeated on the fourth day then revealed a small space-consuming lesion in the right lobe of the liver.
