OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the probable usefulness of normal beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-hCG) regression curve in the diagnosis of persistent trophoblastic disease (PTD).
METHODS: A log-value regression curve was developed from the means and 95% confidence limits of serial weekly serum beta-hCG titers of 43 patients with uneventful complete hydatidiform moles and 14 patients, who were previously confirmed as PTD.

The effect of the choice of maternal age-specific prevalence curve on the model predicted Down syndrome detection rate was examined. All 19 published regression curves from 11 birth prevalence series in four meta-analyses were included. The detection rate for a five per cent false-positive rate was estimated for three combinations of markers. Cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy is a rare type of ectopic pregnancy with high morbidity and mortality. Use of conservative conducts, including medical management with methotrexate, has avoided mutilating surgeries such as hysterectomy and spared the fertility of women. We report the case of a 30-year old patient with a cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy, with a live embryo, who was treated locally with transvaginal ultrasound-guided injection of methotrexate, complemented with various doses of systemic methotrexate.

We report on management and subsequent fertility outcome of interstitial pregnancy in a retrospective cohort study (Canadian Task Force classification II-3) at a university affiliated teaching hospital. OBJECTIVES: Prenatal screening was set up to identify patients at high-risk of chromosome 21 trisomy based on maternal serum markers measurement. However, the risk of trisomy 21 should not be the only result considered by obstetricians.
