The present study describes the construction of a taxonomy of trait-related symptoms in childhood, the Dimensional Personality Symptom Item Pool (DIPSI), and examines the replicability of the taxonomy's higher order structure across maternal ratings of referred (N = 205) and nonreferred (N = 242) children and self-ratings of adolescents (N = 453). The histories and psychological profiles of more than 500 patients meeting DSM-III-R criteria for bulimia nervosa were reviewed. A total of 310 patients demonstrated the most characteristic pattern of bulimia, with finger-induced purging and occasional diet pill, diuretic, or laxative abuse. OBJECTIVE: The aims were to explore if bulimic spectrum disorders (BSD) patients, who also present comorbid compulsive buying (CB), could represent a specific subtype considering its neuropsychological performance; to present a descriptive analysis of different clinical features; and to explore how these variables could influence treatment outcome. BACKGROUND: The treatment of anorexia nervosa (AN) is often challenging due to medical complications as well as high relapse and mortality rates. Studies about effective treatment options for people with AN are particularly scarce in the adolescent population. Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) or dissociative seizures are found under the umbrella headings of functional/dissociative neurological disorders (FND) in psychiatric classifications (DSM-5; ICD-11). PNES are not characterized by any specific ictal or postictal EEG abnormalities. Patients with PNES can present with motor or non-motor symptoms, frequently associated with a change in the level of consciousness. PNES duration is variable, often longer than that of epileptic seizures. Prolonged PNES, sometimes termed PNES status, involve continuous or repetitive events that exceed 30 min.

Exposure treatment is efficient as a treatment for some anxiety disorders. Briefly described, it consists in letting the patient expose himself to an anxiety-inducing situation without running away from it. In the author's experience, this mode of treatment is too seldom used. This article exemplifies conditions in which this form of therapy can be useful. The method is easily learnt by general practitioners. The article describes the treatment of five patients with these psychiatric diagnoses: agoraphobia, social phobia, compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

The mental state was studied in patients with different forms of migraine. Using experimental psychological, electroencephalographic, rheoencephalographic, echoencephalographic and dermatoglyphic methods patients with simple and associated migraine were examined. Characteristic mental disturbances were identified. The authors emphasize the significance of psychodiagnosis for selection of the correct management of patients and the selection of adequate therapy.
