BACKGROUND: Cervical adenocarcinoma in situ is often diagnosed in younger women who may wish to preserve the potential for fertility. Given that the rate of recurrent adenocarcinoma in situ is relatively low and the risk of invasive adenocarcinoma is extremely rare, conservative management in this population after a cone biopsy demonstrates negative margins has been accepted as an appropriate management strategy. Results from our own and other published series of cases of meningococcal disease were used to study prognostic factors and to compose scores for assessment of severity of disease on admission to the hospital. OBJECTIVE: The symptoms of 430 type 2 diabetic patients were determined by a self-administered questionnaire before entry into the U.K. Prospective Diabetes Study.
RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS: Entry into the trial followed 2 months of dietary treatment for newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes.
