OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of flamingo exercise with or without KAT 2000 device on the balance problems due to senile OA.
PARTICIPANTS: Ninety elderly osteoarthritic patients with balance impairment.

BACKGROUND: Multiple acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase deficiency (MADD) is an autosomal recessive disease caused by the defects in the mitochondrial electron transfer system and the metabolism of fatty acids. Recently, mutations in electron transfer flavoprotein dehydrogenase (ETFDH) gene, encoding electron transfer flavoprotein:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (ETF:QO) have been reported to be the major causes of riboflavin-responsive MADD. Fifteen men, classified by self-report as rapists and attempted rapists, but who had never been arrested or convicted, were compared to a matched control group on standardized instruments and content-coded interviews. Differences in hostility toward women, power motivations, and hypermasculinity were similar to findings from studies of convicted rapists. However, results suggest a greater role for the father in the etiology of rape-associated dynamics than has previously been reported.

PURPOSE: Endothelins (ET) have some effects on the regulation of aqueous humor dynamics. To investigate their possible role in glaucoma, we measured plasma and aqueous humor ET levels in patients with and without primary open-angle glaucoma.
