The efficacy of suprahyoid block dissection combined with radiotherapy, in the management of neck nodal disease was evaluated in 15 patients with carcinoma of the floor of mouth (abutting on the mandible) between 1983 and 1989. Ten males and 5 females had a mean age of 60.3 years. Suprahyoid block dissection was performed in 10 patients as initial treatment. In this study, to clarify the influence of the maxillo-mandibular bones and cranium on airway morphology, maxillo-facial morphology in patients with jaw deformation was measured using cephalograms and X-ray CT imaging data. We retrospectively analyzed the autopsy records of the Institute of Forensic Medicine between 2010 and 2012 to document the characteristics of fatalities resulting from hanging in Kuwait.
