PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Given the rarity of anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), studies evaluating new therapies have typically grouped ALCL together with other peripheral T cell lymphomas (PTCL). Thus, the treatment paradigm for ALCL largely mirrors that of PTCL in general. In this review, we discuss the current standard of care as well as emerging therapies, including antibody-based drugs, in systemic ALCL as well as primary cutaneous and breast implant-associated ALCL.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the overall safety, including rare events, of intravenous (IV) abatacept treatment in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
METHODS: Data from 8 clinical trials of IV abatacept in RA were pooled. Safety events were assessed during the short-term (duration ≤ 12 months) and cumulative (short-term plus longterm extensions) abatacept treatment periods. Incidence rates per 100 patient-years were calculated. Standardized incidence ratios (SIR) for hospitalized infections and malignancies were compared with external RA cohorts and, for malignancies, with the US general population.

A conjugate consisting of detoxified lipopolysaccharide of Vibrio cholerae, a carrier polysaccharide matrix and an immunogenic protein has been synthesised and the reaction conditions have been optimised for obtaining a high degree of conjugation.
