Youth experiencing a suicidal crisis may interface with public services like police. The current analysis examined how intersecting social identities (gender, sexual, and racial/ethnic identities) and history of suicidality were associated with discomfort asking the police for help, using a decision tree approach. We summarize single proton emission computed tomography (SPECT) findings from 63 psychiatric patients in a small rural hospital in western Minnesota. SPECT scans were ordered only for patients in whom documentation of hypoperfusion and functional deficits might be helpful in clarifying diagnoses and treatment planning. We report the case of a 15-year-old male who died instantly after being struck in the right occipitoparietal region by an unconventional projectile-a "crystal ball"-during a public protest in Medellín, Colombia. The projectile was fired from a 37 or 40 mm launcher modified with non-regulation ammunition. Autopsy findings, performed under the Minnesota Protocol, included cranial fracture, brain laceration, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Childhood sexual abuse (CSA) is common and is associated with both mental and physical health problems in adulthood. Using data from an age- and sex-stratified population survey of 600 Olmsted County, Minnesota, residents, a Sexual Abuse Severity Score was developed. This study examines assessment issues concerning transsexualism through the use of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). The MMPI was administered to 20 transsexuals matched within sex on age and education: five presurgical male-to-females, five postsurgical male-to-females, five presurgical female-to-males, and five postsurgical female-to-males. Five hundred and ninety Rochester, Minnesota, residents were initially diagnosed with herpes zoster in the period 1945-59. Fifteen had diabetes mellitus before the onset of herpes. The expected number was 15.7. The entire herpes zoster cohort was followed subsequently for nearly 9400 person-years and 33 new cases of diabetes mellitus developed while the expected number was 30.6.
