Clinical Practice Competence and its Associated Factors Among Midwifery and Nursing Students at Dire Dawa Health Sciences Colleges, East Ethiopia, 2020.

BACKGROUND: Competence is defined as the ability to perform a task with desirable outcomes. Globally, an estimated 530,000 women and 2 million newborns die each year, because of no access to competent health professionals. But half of those deaths can be prevented with competent health professionals. However, the existing literature shows that most new graduates have a lack of competence in the clinical environment, none of them have assessed whether student or preceptor factors have an association with clinical competence or not. So, this study is crucial to fill data scarcity. OBJECTIVE: To

Current Practices and Attitudes Regarding Use of Inhaled Nitric Oxide in the NICU: Results From a Survey of Members of the National Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.

BACKGROUND: Excessive supplemental oxygen exposure in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) can be associated with oxygen-related toxicities, which can lead to negative clinical consequences. Use of inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) can be a successful strategy for avoiding hyperoxia in the NICU. iNO selectively produces pulmonary vasodilation and has been shown to improve oxygenation parameters across the spectrum of disease severity, from mild to very severe, in neonates with hypoxic respiratory failure associated with persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn. PURPOSE: An online survey w

Reproductive coercion, sexual risk behaviours and mental health symptoms among young low-income behaviourally bisexual women: implications for nursing practice.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To describe prevalence of reproductive coercion, sexual risk behaviours and mental health symptoms among women reporting lifetime sexual experiences with men and women compared to peers reporting sex exclusively with men. BACKGROUND: Reproductive coercion, a global public health problem, is understudied among sexual minority women. Violence against women remains high among women who have sex with women and men. Rates of sexual and physical violence among this population are higher than women reporting exclusive sexual partnerships with either men or women. Nurses and othe

Reducing Caregiver Burden in First-Episode Psychosis: Effects of a Psychoeducational Pathway Led by an Advanced Practice Nurse-A Multicentre Stepped-Wedge Randomized Trial.

Family caregivers play a pivotal role in the recovery of people experiencing first-episode psychosis (FEP). However, they may suffer from high levels of psychological distress and lack access to structured support. Although international recommendations highlight the need for psychoeducational interventions for caregivers, their implementation in France remains limited. This study aims to evaluate the impact of a structured, multicomponent support pathway, coordinated by advanced practice nurses (APNs), for family caregivers of people with FEP. This multicentre, stepped-wedge (cluster with seq

Psychological capital, perceptions of clinical stressors, and bullying experiences among Chinese nursing students during clinical practice: a latent profile and mediation analysis.

BACKGROUND: Bullying experiences during clinical practice threaten nursing students' learning and professional development. However, existing studies mainly focused on variable-centered associations, with limited exploration of heterogeneous subgroups from a person-centered perspective. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of perceptions of clinical stressors (PCS) in the relationship between psychological capital (PsyCap) and bullying experiences, while identifying latent profiles of bullying experiences. Recognizing distinct subgroups and clarifying influencing mechanisms can help

Development of a scale to measure nurses' information sharing practices during care transitions for older adults with high healthcare needs: a cross-sectional study.

BACKGROUND: Care transitions refer to the movement of patients between healthcare providers and/or care settings, such as from hospital to home. Continuous interventions, responses to unexpected changes during care transitions, and discharge support programs have been implemented to improve care transitions. However, a scale to measure information-sharing practices that address uncertainty in care transitions and differences in stakeholder perspectives has yet to be developed. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and evaluate the validity and reliability of an instrument to assess informatio

Using the behavior change technique ontology to characterize the content of implementation strategies: a secondary analysis of 151 trials targeting evidence-based nursing practice.

BACKGROUND: Implementation strategies are essential for translating evidence into routine clinical practice. Their effectiveness depends on specifying and deploying behavior change techniques (BCTs): observable, irreducible components that target determinants of clinician behavior. The Behavior Change Technique Ontology (BCTO) standardizes the identification and labeling of BCTs, yet it has been applied only sparingly in implementation research to date. PURPOSE: To characterize the nature and extent of BCTs explicitly reported or retrospectively identified in implementation trials that target
