A woman in her 50s was referred to our hospital after a health checkup revealed a large liver tumor on abdominal ultrasonography. Colonoscopy revealed a Type 3 lesion occupying half of the rectosigmoid colon, and a biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of well-differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma. Synchronous primary colon and renal cancer is a rare but real clinical entity reported with variable incidence. Invasive transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder is known to extend directly to other organs in the pelvis. When metastases occur they almost always adhere to a rather consistent pattern of dissemination. We present an unusual case of partial obstruction of the sigmoid colon due to a metastatic transitiocellular bladder tumour four months after transurethral resection of the tumour complicated with a perforation into the peritoneal cavity. Direct implantation of the tumour with the resectoscope is the most possible explanation, but seeding on an intact serosa cannot be excluded either.

A case of a double cancer, a stomach and a colon cancer, in a 84-year-old man is reported. The patient had an occupational history of asbestos exposure while working at two shipyards. His chest X-ray revealed typical, pleural plaque with calcification. Further, a significant number of asbestos bodies in his autopsied lung tissue was detected. In spite of failure to detect asbestos bodies in the stomach and the colon, our findings suggest that these two cancers may have been induced by asbestos exposure.

A patient with Streptococcus bovis endocarditis, on complete gastrointestinal evaluation had only an adenomatous polyp of the sigmoid colon. Twenty-eight months later she was found to have invasive cecal carcinoma. Periodic evaluation of the gastrointestinal tract is therefore recommended for all patients with a history of S. bovis septicemia.

We reported a case of sigmoid colonic high grade tubular adenomas associated with deposited ova of Schistosoma japonicum. A 76-year-old Japanese man was referred to our colonoscopy due to a positive fecal occult blood test. He had a medical history of schistosomiasis japonica.
