Infection of CFW mice with Trichinella spiralis induced a state of relative unresponsiveness to passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) induced with hen egg albumin and its corresponding antibodies. The unresponsiveness was to PCA produced either with immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) or IgE type of antibodies, but was more pronounced with the latter. The anaphylactic reaction in the pinna of a mouse actively sensitized to horse serum is mediated by IgG1 and IgE antibodies. Anaphylactic sensitivity is subject to diurnal variation, peak sensitivity occurring at 16.00 hours and minimum sensitivity at 10.00 hours. Anaphylactic sensitivity also varied with the season of the year, being lower during June and July than in the rest of the year, when the reaction was fairly constant.

In April 2020, the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters (JTFPP) released updated anaphylaxis guidelines, recommending a 1-hour observation time for patients at low risk for biphasic anaphylaxis. Food-dependent exercise-induced allergies are a specific type of food allergy. However, in some cases, allergies may appear along with other diseases. Patients with allergies and concomitant rhabdomyolysis have rarely been reported. Herein, we report a 30-year-old male patient with rhabdomyolysis and no prior history of food-dependent exercise-induced allergy, and discuss our management approach. The aim of this report is to provide new insights into the diagnosis of this condition and assist clinicians in its identification.

The updated Swedish guidelines for anaphylaxis, published by the Swedish Association for Allergology (SFFA) in the autumn of 2024, provide evidence-based recommendations for acute care. Since 2011, indocyanine green (ICG) has been increasingly used in surgery as a diagnostic tool.
