OBJECTIVE: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is generally reported to be associated with spondylarthropathies (SpA) in 5%-15% of cases. Systematic colonoscopic assessment by protocol demonstrated mucosal inflammation characteristic of Crohn disease (CD) in up to one-third of patients with SpA. Video capsule endoscopy (CE) is a superior diagnostic tool to detect small bowel mucosal disease. Our study compared the accuracy of CE to standard colonoscopy for detection of inflammatory bowel lesions in patients with SpA, and to describe predictors of small bowel inflammation (SBI) in this cohort.

Video capsule endoscopy (VCE) has become the method of choice for visualizing the small bowel mucosa and is generally considered to be a safe method. PURPOSE: To describe a new technique for implantation of capsule-fixated intraocular lenses (IOLs) (FEMTIS; Oculentis, Berlin, Germany) in patients with small pupils.
METHODS: In 4 eyes with small pupils, an anterior capsule-fixated IOL was implanted into the capsular bag after femtosecond laser treatment. The two large and two small flaps of the IOL were elevated to the front of the iris and the anterior capsule. Finally, the iris was flipped over the flaps to ensure a fixation of the capsule inside of the capsulotomy.

This report provides the first representative images of an intracranial osteochondroma with a cystic component mimicking cystic meningioma. Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) surgery aims to restore the native anatomical relationships between bones and the soft tissues comprising the hip joint. The goal of this approach is to mimic the natural biomechanical function of the hip joint and translate it into a perfect clinical outcome. In this article, we describe the indications and contraindications for our preferred hip arthroscopic techniques for correcting FAI in both primary and revision cases and discuss the role of postoperative rehabilitation and use of biologics in further improving patient outcomes.

BACKGROUND: In patients with suspected or known obstructive gastrointestinal pathology, the use of patency capsule (PC) aims to minimize the risk of subsequent retention of the endoscopic capsule.
