We performed a retrospective review of cases sent in consultation wherein physiological ovarian follicles, corpora lutea, or their constituent cells raised concern for malignancy based on architectural or cytologic features. The 57 cases were broadly divided into 4 groups. The largest (n=31) showed tangential sections through the granulosa (n=18) or theca (n=13) layers of developing follicles. BRASH syndrome, defined by bradycardia, renal failure, atrioventricular nodal blockade, shock, and hyperkalemia, is a relatively new and often underrecognized condition. In this article, we present a case of an elderly female who developed an episode of syncope. She was found to have refractory shock and bradycardia in the emergency department. Laboratory results and other findings led to the diagnosis of a BRASH syndrome, which was refractory to medical therapy alone, requiring transvenous pacing, hemodialysis, and vasopressor support.

The reaction of nitrosothiol, Ph3CSNO, with a divalent iron N-confused porphyrin complex, Fe(HCTPPH)Br, yields a {Fe(NO)}6 iron nitrosyl complex with a sulfur atom inserted in the Fe-C bond. The crystal structure reveals a bent Fe-N-O geometry and an eta2-(C,S) bonding mode between iron and the C-S bond.
