The incidence and risk factors for chronic suppurative otitis media without cholesteatoma in children in Southern Israel were determined by comparing 88 children with the disease to 76 controls with similar age distribution who visited 3 clinics serving representative populations of the region. We report 4 dengue cases in travelers returning to Israel from Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, all confirmed as dengue virus type 2 infections. Phylogenetic analysis showed clustering with strains from Pakistan. Our findings provide molecular evidence of dengue circulation in the Sinai desert, highlighting the need for increased awareness among travelers and health authorities.
