Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is the most common sarcoma in adults. Rarely, LMS dedifferentiates into an undifferentiated sarcoma. Very few cases of LMS with heterologous osteosarcomatous differentiation (OS) have been reported. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinicopathologic features of LMS with OS. Of 5570 LMS cases diagnosed from 2006 to 2022, 15 cases (0.2%) of LMS with OS were identified, affecting 13 females and 2 males; ages ranged from 32 to 66 years (median: 53 y). PURPOSE: Osteochondromyxomas (OMX) are rare congenital bone tumors that have only been described in the context of Carney complex syndrome (CNC). Data on OMX as a separate entity and in association with other disorders remain limited, making both diagnosis and treatment difficult.

Radiotherapy is one of the pillars in the multimodal therapy of sarcomas of the extremities or pelvis/retroperitoneum. It can be delivered prior to or following surgery. Novel radiation techniques, such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy using high-energy photons or protons, contribute to the reduction of acute and late toxicities. A 61-year-old, healthy woman presented with a six-month history of a mass on the radial volar aspect of her dominant right hand. The patient had a history of trauma to the hand six years previously. Radiographs showed a bony lesion in the index metacarpal shaft and the MRI showed a bony lesion and soft tissue mass suggestive of a parosteal lipoma. Surgical excision of the lesion revealed a lipoma overlying a bony exostosis or osteolipoma of the hand. Post-operatively, the patient's symptoms resolved and she had no recurrence of the tumor.

PURPOSE: This study evaluates serial radiographic changes in the maxillary sinus of patients with oral cancer after an inferior maxillectomy and a soft tissue free flap reconstruction.
METHODS: Fifty-six patients were evaluated between Oct 2005 and Mar 2017 from an institutional database. Preoperative and surveillance imaging was reviewed at set time-points. Maxillary sinus scores were allotted based on a modification of the Lund-MacKay staging system. Patients were evaluated for change in sinus score. A univariate (UV) and multivariate (MV) analysis was performed.

Risedronate is a pyridinyl bisphosphonate that can be administered orally in lower dosages than other antiresorptive bisphosphonates.
