OBJECTIVE: To observe the visual quality after implantation of Acrysof toric intraocular lens (IOL) in cataract patients.
METHODS: Eighty eyes (60 patients) had implantation of Acrysof toric IOL in our hospital between Oct. 2009 and Sep. 2010. The patients were divided into four groups according to the toric models (T3, T4 and T5). We describe injuries to the posterior root of the medial meniscus in patients with spontaneous osteonecrosis of the medial compartment of the knee. We identified 30 consecutive patients with spontaneous osteonecrosis of the medial femoral condyle. The radiographs and MR imaging were reviewed. Punding, complex stereotyped behavior, sometimes occurs in patients with Parkinson's disease under dopaminergic replacement therapy. Reduction of dopaminergic drugs may reduce the problem but risks enhancing motor impairment. We report a patient with Parkinson's disease presenting disabling punding, which was reversed by amantadine without aggravating motor function. Amantadine may reduce punding by blocking NMDA receptors, in the same manner as in levodopa-induced dyskinesias.
