[Effect of radix Ginseng-faeces Trogopterori combination on pharmacodynamics and effective chemical composition of radix Ginseng].

The experiments have shown that there is incompatibility on anti-stress because the action of Radix Ginseng alone is stronger than that of Radix Ginseng and Faeces Trogopterori combined, but there is little incompatibility on non-specific immune function when both are used. The analysis of chemical composition of Radix Ginseng has indicated that the acquired rate of total saponin from the semifinished products and Rg1 of Radix Ginseng is markedly increased when the two drugs are decocted together. The results suggest that the traditional theory is limited in holding that Radix ginseng and Faec

20(R)-Rg3 derived from ginseng fibrous roots ameliorates DSS-induced colitis via selective modulation of glucocorticoid receptor signaling.

Naturally derived selective glucocorticoid receptor (GR) modulators dissociate anti-inflammatory efficacy from adverse effects. Rare ginsenosides have emerged as promising candidates for this selective modulation. This study explored rare ginsenosides derived from ginseng fibrous roots to evaluate their ability to selectively influence GR signaling. Rare ginsenosides were prepared from ginseng fibrous roots via alcoholic extraction, followed by targeted acid hydrolysis. Selective GR modulators were screened using a combination of molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulation, and cellular a

Remote mobilization of gut Tregs exosomes serves as nanoshuttles for targeted cardioprotection against ischemia/reperfusion injury by ginseng polysaccharides.

Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) remains a critical clinical condition with limited preventive and therapeutic strategies, underscoring the need for novel interventions. The gut-heart axis and exosomal crosstalk hold therapeutic promise for cardioprotection, yet the fundamental question of which specific gut cells release the beneficial exosomes is unanswered. This study aimed to elucidate whether ginseng polysaccharides WGPA exert remote cardiac protection by regulating intestinal immune homeostasis, specifically through promoting the release of exosomes from regulatory T cells (

Colon-Targeted Ginseng Polysaccharides-Based Microspheres for Improving Ulcerative Colitis via Anti-Inflammation and Gut Microbiota Modulation.

Natural plant-derived polysaccharides exhibit substantial potential for treating ulcerative colitis (UC) owing to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and favorable safety profiles. However, their practical application faces several challenges, including structural instability in gastric acid, imprecise targeting of inflamed regions, and limited intestinal retention times. To address these limitations, pH-responsive, colon-targeting microspheres (pWGPAC MSs) are developed for delivering phosphorylated wild ginseng polysaccharides (pWGP) to alleviate UC. These pWGPAC MSs are fabri

Fecal fatty acid profile reveals the therapeutic effect of red ginseng acidic polysaccharide on type 2 diabetes mellitus in rats.

This study aimed to investigate the potential hypoglycemic mechanism of red ginseng acidic polysaccharides (RGAP) from the perspective of fatty acid (FA) regulation. A high-glucose/high-fat diet in conjunction with streptozotocin administration was employed to establish type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) rat models, and their fecal FAs were detected using the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method. RGAP treatment alleviated the polyphagia, polydipsia, weight loss, and hyperglycemia observed in T2DM rats. FA profile was disturbed by T2DM modeling, and 11 marker FAs were selected fr

Ethanolic Extract of Salvia hispanica L. Regulates Blood Pressure by Modulating the Expression of Genes Involved in BP-Regulatory Pathways.

Hypertension (HT) is considered to be a potential risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and has been directly related to pathologies such as obesity and dyslipidemias. Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) blocked the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone cascade diminishing the production of angiotensin II and the level of bradykinin, produced by the kallikrein-kinin system. Although ACEIs are effective therapeutics in regulating HT, they present several side-effects that can be due to their mechanism of action (as hypotension, cough, dizziness, light-headedness or hyperkalemia) to speci

Integrated Multi-Omics Analysis Reveals Mountain-Cultivated Ginseng Ameliorates Cold-Stimulated Steroid-Resistant Asthma by Regulating Interactions among Microbiota, Genes, and Metabolites.

Steroid-resistant asthma (SRA), resisting glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone (DEX), is a bottleneck in the treatment of asthma. It is characterized by a predominantly neutrophilic inflammatory subtype and is prone to developing into severe refractory asthma and fatal asthma. Currently, there is a lack of universally effective treatments for SRA. Moreover, since cold stimulation does increase the risk of asthma development and exacerbate asthma symptoms, the treatment of cold-stimulated SRA (CSRA) will face greater challenges. To find effective new methods to ameliorate CSRA, this study esta

Efficacy of ginseng and its ingredients as adjuvants to chemotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer.

Chemotherapy is applied to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but often limited due to its unstable therapeutic effects and adverse reactions (ADRs). Ginseng and its main ingredients (ginsenosides and polysaccharides) have been clinically used as adjuvants to chemotherapy. However, their efficacies were based on individual trials with relatively small sample sizes, and it is difficult to draw a valid conclusion. In this study, eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were searched in six international and Chinese databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge
