Luxation of the eye globe is a rare occasion but it carries a risk of threat to permanent vision loss especially when associated with very high intraocular pressure. Appropriate intervention should be undertaken instantly. Predisposing factors include; eyes as in shallow orbital sockets, floppy eyelid syndrome, and exophthalmos. Prompt reduction results in restoration of full anatomical and visual recovery in otherwise healthy eyes. The pyrogenal therapy was used for the treatment and prophylaxis of the adhesive disease (both the acute and chronic forms). In acute forms parallel with pyrogenal the intraperitoneal administration of a warm 0,25% solution of novokain was used. The method is thought by the author to improve the immediate and late results of the treatment.

The possible role of complement in the pathogenesis of the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction was assessed in cutaneous syphilitic lesions in two groups of rabbits treated with penicillin; in one group complement was depleted before penicillin therapy. Serial biopsy specimens were similar histologically in both groups. The activation of the complement pathways did not seem to play a role in the pathogenesis of early cutaneous syphilitic lesions in rabbits during the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction.

During a combined acupuncture-neural therapy-treatment on account of a gastric ulcer several lesions with vast haemorrhages in the abdominal cavity and in the retroperitoneal space on the right (lesions of the kidney) were produced. At the operation a duodenal ulcer without perforation was found. The competence of the neural therapy in its relation to the complications is discussed, the indication to the application of these forms of therapy in such cases is refused.

Complicated migraine is regarded as a cerebrovascular syndrome of functional character. In the case of a young man with cervical migraine associated with paroxysmal neurological disorders and persisting EEG abnormalities, stellate ganglion blocks were performed under EEG control. A transient amelioration of the pathological EEG pattern was observed after each stellate ganglion block and after several treatments the EEG was normal and the migraine attacks disappeared. The pathophysiology of the effect of stellate ganglion block on cerebral blood flow is discussed.
