We have read the case report of Nihon-Yanagi et al. The patient they described developed hepatic granuloma two times and the granulomatous lesion was surrounding metal staples/clips suggesting that the granuloma was due to surgical staples/clips. Hepatic granulomas (HGs) are reported in around 5% of patient who undergo a liver biopsy and caused by several diseases including sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, hydatid cyst, brucellosis, typhoid fever, chronic hepatitis B and C and primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC). A uterus-like mass is a rare, benign extra-uterine tumour composed of smooth muscle and endometrium. The majority of uterus-like masses occur in the ovary. Rarely, uterus-like masses occur in the broad ligament, small bowel, small bowel mesentery or uterine cervix. Here, we report a case of a uterus-like mass in the sigmoid mesocolon. A well-defined, markedly enhanced soft-tissue mass with central cystic change and haemorrhage was observed on CT. The current report describes the CT characteristics of this sigmoid mesocolon uterus-like mass together with the differential diagnoses.

A 72-year-old woman had been diagnosed in 1998 as having colonic adenocarcinoma associated with lymphocytosis, and had undergone an operation. We report a technique for laparoscopic segmental resection of the sigmoid colon. A 30.73-year-old nulligravida complained of pelvic pain, abdominal bloating, intestinal cramping, and painful bowel movements. Following the publication of Hage & Hage, who believe that gastric cancers accompanying malignant acanthosis nigricans might constitute a specific group of carcinomas in which cells from parts of the tumor arise from the APUD-series of endocrine cells, carcinomas of 2 patients with malignant acanthosis nigricans were subjected to investigation. There were no APUD-cells in the adenocarcinomas studied but they were present in the overlying mucosa. It is known, moreover, that internal carcinomas not accompanying malignant acanthosis nigricans may contain APUD cells.

A series of 11 patients undergoing abdoninoperineal resection for "suture line recurrence" following anterior resection is presented. Five-year survival is 10%. Technically, the procedure is difficult and major problems are encountered, including large blood loss and ureteral complications. These patients had an inadequate distal margin of resection at the time of anterior resection.
