Hypoxia-induced anapyrexia is thought to be a regulated decrease in body core temperature (Tcore), but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Recent evidence suggests that lactate, a glycolysis product, could modulate neuronal excitability through the G protein-coupled receptor 81 (GPR81). PURPOSE: To report a series of patients who developed punctal stenosis secondary to the use of topical netarsudil 0.02% for treatment of glaucoma.
DESIGN: Case series.
PARTICIPANTS: Patients using topical netarsudil for management of glaucoma and noted to have punctal stenosis ipsilateral to the eye(s) being treated with netarsudil were included.
METHODS: Each enrolled patient's chart was reviewed, and alternative causes of punctal stenosis were sought. Photographs were obtained to document punctal stenosis for some patients.

Esters are of widespread use for protecting carboxylic acids in organic synthesis. However, methods to cleave esters often employ harsh conditions. Herein, we report a new and mild method for the reductive cleavage of 2,2,2-trichloroethylesters (TCE esters). Our radical method employs Cp(2)TiCl as an electron transfer catalyst and Zn dust as stoichiometric reducing agent. It avoids the use of strong Brønstedt-acids as well as aqueous conditions and can be carried out at room temperature.

We report a clinical case of a 15-year-old boy who presented a photodistributed eruption after having used a sunscreen cream for 8 days. Photobiological testing showed a contact allergy to 3-(4' methylbenzylidene) camphor (Eusolex 6300) included in his sunscreen cream associated with a contact and photocontact allergy to 4-isopropyl-dibenzoylmethane (Eusolex 8020) not included.
