A 3-month-old infant with a white mother and Asian father presented with discoloration and prominence of the left eye since birth. Examination revealed a normal right eye. The left eye had hyperchromic heterochromia and an enlarged cornea (diameter, 13.0 mm) with intraocular pressure of 26 mm Hg. The sphenopalatine artery gives off two main branches: the posterior lateral nasal branch and the posterior septal branch. From 2007 to 2012 17 patients were treated with cauterization and/or ligature of the sphenopalatine artery with endonasal endoscopic approach. 90 nasal dissections were performed in 45 adult cadaveric heads. The authors performed a retrospective study of the safety and efficacy of toenail phenol and alcohol chemical matrixectomy in diabetic versus nondiabetic patients.
